Both the extension and the app are updated and at current versions.

Have tried various combinations of quitting browser + app, and toggling / untoggling the "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" and "Connect with 1Password in the browser" settings in the extension / app, respectively.

Have toggled on and off the "Allow in the background" setting in System Settings->General

Still getting "Status: Problems connecting 🟠. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked." 100% of the time when using the extension, and no option for TouchID

BEYOND frustrated at this point. I just want to use TouchID on my browser extension!

1Password Version: 8.10.40
Extension Version: 2.27.1
OS Version: 14.6.1
Browser: Safari

@kevin_li @JerrySG It's fixed! Jerry, you need to update both the 1Password app and the 1Password for Safari app (which you can speed up by going to the 1Password for Safari page in the App Store and clicking update).

Thanks for fixing. I'm not sure what was more frustrating, having to unlock every time or the fact that I had to enter the PW every time because biometrics were also not working. :(
Thankfully, all appears to be well again after updating again. FYI, I didn't get the "Update" option in the app store by going and searching. I went through the app settings and clicked on Browser, which opened the app store and then prompted me with the Update option.

@elkodsi

Good news. The latest version 8.10.44 of the 1Password 8 desktop app and the 1Password for Safari web extension has fixed the connection issue. Therefore, can you update your 1Password 8 desktop app and the 1Password for Safari web extension:

After the updates, let's quit Safari by right-clicking(ctrl + click) its icon in the Dock area and selecting "Quit". Then, open & unlock the 1Password 8 desktop app first, restart Safari to see if 1Password extension is unlocked there automatically.

@hrosenman ,

Can you let me know if the updates help to fix your issue?

-Kevin.

@1P_Tommy

All seems to be working here now app and extension have been updated. 👍🏻

Thank you.

Fixed! But I had to uninstall and reinstall 1P for Safari after reading this. No notification or obvious way to check for an update.

I've updated to version 8.10.44. It's working now.

1Password can be opened using fingerprint reader on Mac keyboard. However, this does not unlock 1Password Extension. Can only open extension by typing password.

Tried rebooting Mac, but this action did not help.

I agree with joisagile. I have the same issue. I am on all the identical versions and find it won't work correctly with Safari. It will work with my Brave browser. This issue occurred after the recent update to Safari.

I've just updated on one of my MacBook Pros and it works, thanks a lot to the 1P Team!

I had the same issue. To make it work, I had to use the CleanMyMac app to uninstall the extension fully.
