Both the extension and the app are updated and at current versions.

Have tried various combinations of quitting browser + app, and toggling / untoggling the "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" and "Connect with 1Password in the browser" settings in the extension / app, respectively.

Have toggled on and off the "Allow in the background" setting in System Settings->General

Still getting "Status: Problems connecting 🟠. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked." 100% of the time when using the extension, and no option for TouchID

BEYOND frustrated at this point. I just want to use TouchID on my browser extension!

1Password Version: 8.10.40
Extension Version: 2.27.1
OS Version: 14.6.1
Browser: Safari

Hi everyone,

We have identified the connection issue happening between the 1Password for Safari web extension and the 1Password for Mac desktop app. Currently, 1Password for Safari has to be unlocked separately from the desktop app due to the issue. I'm sorry about the inconvenience and confusion it caused.

Our developers are looking into the issue so hopefully, a fix will be patched soon. Meanwhile, the connection should be working in other supported browsers, such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

I have also discovered this exact same issue on my Mac studio. It was good yesterday. I have also tried restarting the Mac, but that does not help.

I am on the very latest 1Password version

OK, I get the connection issue will be dealt with. But there's more to the issue.

No matter what I do, the 1Password Safari extension will not work with the Apple Watch now. Multiple times I have use System Settings - Login Password. Disable, then re-enable and typically that always gets the Apple Watch connection working again.
hat you see in the attachment is all I get at this point.

As @shrimppesto mentioned, the issue seems to be related to the code-signing certificate for the 1Password Safari extension. Our developers are looking into the issue so hopefully, a fix will be patched soon. Meanwhile, the connection should be working in other supported browsers, such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

Additionally, you can adjust the auto-lock settings for the 1Password for Safari web extension under the "Security" section after you unlock 1Password in Safari:

Hi @VirgilBoy ,

The Apple Watch unlock feature is from the 1Password desktop app. Due to the connection issue I mentioned above, we cannot utilize Apple Watch to unlock 1Password in Safari currently. Sorry about the trouble.

Once the connection issue is fixed, you should use Apple Watch to unlock again.
