Both the extension and the app are updated and at current versions.

Have tried various combinations of quitting browser + app, and toggling / untoggling the "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" and "Connect with 1Password in the browser" settings in the extension / app, respectively.

Have toggled on and off the "Allow in the background" setting in System Settings->General

Still getting "Status: Problems connecting 🟠. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked." 100% of the time when using the extension, and no option for TouchID

BEYOND frustrated at this point. I just want to use TouchID on my browser extension!

Thank you, Kevin, I appreciate the update. Hopefully this is an easy fix for you.

Same thing just started happening to me on two different Macs. Clearly a 1PW but that needs to be fixed quickly!!!

I am wondering why opening (unlocking) the 1PW app doesn't automatically cause the Safari plug in to be unlocked (the icon next to the web site name at the top of the Safari window still has a lock on it). And vice versa. Is this the normal behavior, or do I have some setting not set correctly? Seems to me that this is unnecessarily cumbersome. Thanks

When I log in to 1password and unlock it with touch id on a mac, the safari extension is not correctly detecting the desktop application. I tried to do it from the google chrome browser and in this browser it correctly detects the desktop application, so it is not an error on their part.

I wasted hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Reinstalled everything. Finally came here and discovered I wasted my time with a bug that should never have happened. Tried to email support but could not find any way to do this. I wonder how many hours of valuable time users wasted trying to figure out the problem???? Going to start looking for another program for password management. Used to love this program. But version 8 turn me right around, and not in a good way.

Known issue -- it started 8/31/24, 1Password is aware and working on a fix.

Any update over here? So annoying... Why did it stop working? There was no new update... When will it work again?
