Question

Firefox browser extension not working properly

As of monday, the Firefox extension behaves weirdly across operating systems (Windows, MacOS and Linux).

It will not offer items on most sites, even though when clicking the icon in browser bar, the items are filtered correctly.

Autofill from the bar icon will also seemingly not work, but after page reload, credentials are filled in.

Linux extension is 8.12.28.25, 1Password 8.12.28

Hi @finwe, thanks for reporting this!

I've tested on my end but haven't been able to reproduce this so far. The Firefox extension has been working normally on every website I've tried.

Could you share an example of a website where it isn't working, so I can test on the same page?

One general example I was able to reproduce is Basecamp.

Also, this message appears in browser console (judging from the source code, it comes from 1password):

[Messaging] Exception while handling request <collect-frame-details>: <redacted> injected.js:3:93114
m1 moz-extension://cfd04c7d-0a94-41d7-82ac-cd3d343bf863/inline/injected.js:3
f1 moz-extension://cfd04c7d-0a94-41d7-82ac-cd3d343bf863/inline/injected.js:3

I was able to screencast the behaviour: the items appear, but do not fill on click. when the username appears, it is after a page reload. https://opu.peklo.biz/p/26/07/22/1784721435-114a5.mp4

Hi @finwe, thanks for your reply! It looks like your messages are being automatically rejected due to the link you included. I do apologise for the confusing experience here.

We’ve since received another report of similar behaviour in Firefox, and I’d like to have our support team dig into this further with you. Could you attach your video to an email message addressed to support@1password.com? If the recording is too large to attach directly to an email, you can upload it to a new 1Password document item, and then securely share a link to that item in your email.

With your email please include:

You’ll receive a Support ID number. Post that number here to help me join the dots. Thanks!
