Unable to unlock second account in browser extension when the browser is waiting for restart to update

When the browser extension locks after 1password upgrade and also the browser waits for restart to apply its own upgrade, it is impossible to unlock any subsequent account in the browser no matter what I try. Locking both app and the extension, the app unlock doesnt unlock the extension. Clicking the locked account in extension just opens the 1password website.

It would help a lot to have the unlock for another account directly in the extension.

And no, it is not reasonable to expect users to restart their browsers anytime just not to be locked out from the password manager browser functionality.
