When I switched from Bitwarden to 1P, I was disappointed to realize that 1P’s vault implementation restricted an item to only existing in a single vault. (I was further perplexed when moving items between vaults was generating deleted items. Until I realized what was happening, I was worried that items were being deleted randomly - not a comforting feeling when trying to understand a new PM!.) Bitwarden’s sharing architecture allows an item to be in as many collections—BW’s analogue to 1P’s vaults— as desired.
I’m looking at this issue from the perspective of a family account rather than business, but there are similar challenges and benefits. There are many, many logins etc which (will) live in a vault shared with my spouse. Over time, at various times, we will want some of those items to become accessible to our young-teen child. Adding him to our shared vault would be out of the question. Creating a separate vault, as noted in the prior reply, doesn’t address the main problem, as various items will become accessible to our child at various times. And whenever that time comes, being forced to move an item from one vault to another will deactivate any links to related items and maybe have other impacts I’m not remembering at the moment.
I can foresee similar issues if and when we share our family account with elderly parents.
