2 years agoMaybe I m missing something, but I am not sure having to scan in a QR code to from my iPhone is easier than simply typing in my vault password. It means I have to open my iphone (another device) to log into my Windows computer, is that correct?
This new feature is meant to streamline the sign-in process when you first add your 1Password account to a new device or browser. Instead of having to enter your email address, Secret Key, and account password you can just scan the QR code and be instantly signed in. Once an account is added to a device or browser, you'll unlock 1Password using your account password or biometrics.
You can already sign into 1Password in the browser using a QR code, here's a screenshot:
