Almost there - what I want to see is this sentence changed without the bold text:
This update makes signing into 1Password on a new device faster and easier than ever, without sacrificing security.
After moving from Lastpass, I'm actually kind of shocked to have to type in my master password all the time after the first QR login. Keyloggers and shoulder surfers are a thing. If your password is long and complicated, you have to make it visible while typing or you will never get in. It is like a giant step backwards and will force people to redo small easy to read/remember passwords.

5 months agoThank you for the feedback! Do you have the desktop app installed? If you don't then I recommend that you install it since it expands 1Password's auto-lock functionality to keep 1Password in the browser unlocked even if you close your browser and allows you to unlock 1Password using Windows Hello (Windows) or Touch ID (Mac) rather than having to type in your account password all the time:
- Download 1Password
- Use Windows Hello to unlock 1Password on your Windows PC
- Use Touch ID to unlock 1Password on your Mac
You can also configure auto-lock so that 1Password locks less often: How to set 1Password to lock automatically

I do run the beta app on my main laptop but not two others. I do run the beta app on my android phone and I really like the fingerprint unlock and my wish would be to be able to use the QR code not just for a new device but for general unlocking on another client. There are many times I want to use 1P on another device that I don't totally have control over and do not want to install the app even if I do have admin rights (windows) and on one linux box.
I have found that if I log out or reboot my win laptop, I'm required to use my password to unlock 1P the first time even though I used windows hello to log in (finger print sensor on a Dell).

Thanks for the feedback! You might be interested in the passkey unlock feature that our team is currently beta testing: Unlock 1Password with a passkey (beta)
With passkey unlock you can unlock 1Password in the browser using a passkey on your device, or on a different device, instead of having to type in an account password.
PS - I see the option in the security settings to use the TPS chip to store creds that can survive restarting the 1p app and a reboot but it is greyed out. Win hello works just fine and the chip is being used. I submitted a ticket with the debug info.
Thank you for submitting a ticket, please continue that conversation there. If you haven't yet received a reply then let me know.

I'm just wondering out loud why 1p can't continue to use/allow the QR code method for every day 1p login like it does for a new device login? Is there some technical/security reason that is a bad idea?
The docs online state that 1p could use, for example, fingerprint login but it will not after a reboot. The docs say you have to log in first to use windows hello - just after I used windows hello to log into windows... Odd.
