Annnd my bank safety deposit box has now closed. There are no more affordable facilities anywhere near me.

I’d quite happily pay a premium for this feature.

Where do you live that you are only now losing your safety deposit box?  Here, in the Washington, DC metro area, they disappeared 10 or 15 years ago.

    The UK, South West. Many high street banks have closed here now (digital banking has mostly replaced them). There are a some standalone safe deposit / vault companies starting to fill the gaps for secure storage but they're only in the big cities.
