As part of my troubleshooting earlier, I had checked for updates for both 1Password and 1Password for Safari, and the response was that 8.10.48 was the newest version. A short time ago, 1Password 8.10.50 became available. I installed it, and restarted my Mac. I looked for a newer version of 1Password for Safari, but the Mac App Store still shows 8.10.48 as the latest version available.
Installing the new version of 1Password and restarting my Mac did not have any influence on the problem of 1Password not showing up in Safari 17.6.
