1Password for Safari Extension Issues
1Password for Safari stops showing logins for a site under the form field. Once it stops working, it requires Safari to restart. This could be Safari's fault; a bug from porting the Chrome/Firefox extension to Safari, but 1P7 NEVER had an issue. It was rock sold.
In 1Password 7, if 1Password was locked I was prompted for biometrics authentication. In 1Password 8, I have to go to the toolbar and click the 1Password toolbar icon which quickly opens and closes a window and then I can use 1Password for Safari again. First of all, the app opening and closing in the dock is not elegant, and second, why do I have to click the toolbar? Just do it the way 1Password 7 did it.
As the result of what I think was a lazy port from Chrome to Safari is the icon in the toolbar does not conform to Safari's standard of a non-color icon and instead is a garish bitmap image which is pixelated. (Did anyone use the extension before shipping?) And I'm pretty sure someone else reported this, it should have been fixed by now.

+1 on Issue No. 1.
Need to start Safari which is frustrating. Fortunately I can still use quick access from the menu bar

Hey before 8.7.1 you had to do this manually from the Terminal app!
Open the Terminal app on your Mac: https://support.apple.com/guide/terminal/open-or-quit-terminal-apd5265185d-f365-44cb-8b09-71a064a42125/mac
Paste the following into Terminal and then press enter to run the command:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -f -R /Applications/Safari.app
At least now it is coded in the app!

FWIW I just discovered a solution for the extension not showing in Safari.
First, check running the latest update for 1PW8.
Then open 1PW8.
Then click on Help
Then choose Troubleshooting
Then choose Fix Missing Safari Extension.
Voila! Extension now shows up.
Jeez. Could they have made this any more convoluted? - notnotjakeFrequent Contributor
Just saw on https://1password.community/discussion/129592/several-issues-after-upgrading-to-v8-is-it-possible-to-downgrade-back-to-v7#latest from @Scott2 that having 1Password in the Menu Bar gets rid of some issues with 1Password. It seems to fix issue #2 (needing to click toolbar icon to unlock), now I just have to click the 1Password icon in the field -- so much better!!
Why can't this just run in the background though without a Menu Bar icon? Luckily I have Bartender.

Ditto MichaelMatthews complaint. I too cannot find the extension in Safari preferences, and cannot get it to install.

1Password 8 has simply stopped working in Safari. I cannot see the extension, nor can I install it. Frustrating.

Experiencing issues as well with 1Password ceasing to work in Safari until restarted. Clicking on the extension in the menu bar just shows "Open 1Password" and the button doesn't function. Restarting Safari resolves it temporarily.

See video demonstrating #2: https://youtu.be/dSsXW-J4R7g
And this issue also prevents use of 1Password for Safari when it's a toolbarless window, like when an app opens a login window for an OAuth2 service. Screenshot:
