Has there been any internal progress on this? It's been 4 years since the initial request.

Flathub is still/even more popular and larger than the Snap store. Since you are on the Snap store, it makes no sense not to be on Flathub.
Especially since most of the groundwork (setting up the packaging infra for a 1Password Flatpak) has already been done for 1Password its private Flatpak repo.
