4 years agoHi @crackout, thanks for letting us know your first impressions of 1Password 8. We appreciate hearing from you!
What's happening here is that the two apps are unlocking together. We've tried to create as unified an experience as possible with 1Password 8, whether you're in the browser or working in apps on the desktop. In order to do this, we've created something called a "shared lock state", which basically means that when you unlock one of the apps, the other opens with it. That way you don't have to put in your password multiple times across apps; just one will do.
Regarding 1Password in your browser in particular: it now unlocks through the 1Password for Mac app, which may also present a prompt for TouchID if you've got that enabled (it's really convenient; I'd recommend giving that setting a try if you haven't yet!).* In any case, that desktop window should also disappear when you've finished entering your password, so that it gets out of your way and you can go about your business.
I hope this proves informative. If there's anything we can help with from here, or any feedback you'd like to offer, let me know and I'll be happy to assist. 👋
