Auto-lock not supported on Ubuntu 24.04 Cinnamon
Hi,
I noticed that under Ubuntu Cinnamon (24.04 .2 LTS) 1Password for Linux 8.10.72 does not implement Auto-lock.
The Auto-lock feature says "Your current desktop environment does not support Auto-lock. 1Password will not lock when your computer is idle".
Has anyone else run into this and know of any workarounds (other than manually locking the app all the time). Or is this a case of I am the only one using Ubuntu with the Cinnamon desktop manager (which runs faster on my old MacBook Air better than Gnome)
Thanks,
Mike

Hello M2AX! 👋
Thanks for reaching out! If you're using Cinnamon as a desktop environment then this will indeed prevent 1Password from offering auto-lock. The reason for this is that there doesn't seem to be a way for 1Password to receive information about whether your system is locked, has gone to sleep, or how long it's been idle for when using this desktop environment.
1Password relies on the desktop environment to report when the system is idle, about to sleep, or locked. You'll see the error message that you quoted if 1Password is unable to detect the system idle time using your current Linux configuration.
Let me know if you have any questions.
