Bug(?) - Search form doesn't clear when press toolbar search button

Not sure whether this behavior is intentional: whenever I press the search toolbar/nav button, if there'd been a previous search then the input doesn't clear, so I have to do so manually. Expected...

This has been frustrating for so long. why is dev. team so slow to just fix an absolutely simple thing and needs years? we have to frequently browse 1p app and on mobile it's inconvenient to always click backspace button 10 times to clear the inputed item everytime we try to make a new search
