5 years agoBug: 1Password assumes QWERTY layout when setting keyboard shortcuts
When setting a keyboard shortcut, 1P listens for the hardware key presses rather than the logical ones it receives when the shortcut is being activated later on.
Example:
I use the Colemak keyboard layout. It's similar to QWERTY, but about 40% of the letters are in different locations. Here's what happens when I go to set a keyboard shortcut using one of those letters.
- I click in the box, and 1Password waits for me to enter a combination of keys to make up the shortcut.
- I press ⌃⌘K.
- 1Password interprets this as ⌃⌘N, since the K key in the Colemak layout corresponds to the physical N key.
- If I try to activate the shortcut, pressing the same key I pressed in step 2, nothing happens. It only works when I use the logical N key (J in QWERTY).
1Password Version: 1Password for Mac 8.2.2 (80202080)
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: macOS 11.6

Hi there. Yup, can confirm this is a problem. Going to file an issue to have it looked at.
