Can I turn off smart passwords
Today I was trying to create a login and discovered “Smart Passwords”. They properly detected the password length but nothing else about the password and I was not able to create a login using them. I would change to random but that too did not work, so I deduce it was the website not 1Password. But ….every time I attempted to use 1Password to see if I could debug the issue, it defaulted to using Smart Password. I could not get it to change the default.
Is there some way to do this ?

I think you're looking for the following. You posted in the Mac side of things but I believe you're seeing this in the browser. No worries, just wanting to clarify.
- Open the 1Password in the browser pop-up.
- Click the hamburger the 3 horizontal lines.
- Click password generator.
- Change the recipe from Smart password to something else.
- Enable the setting for use as default for suggestions.
- Close
If you're having trouble with a specific site please let us know. Smart passwords are very often a great solution in my opinion but there are hiccups with some sites. Please let us know how you fare.
