Classic plugin for 1password 7 for Firefox stopped working

This morning the classic plugin for Firefox for 1P v7 stopped working, coincidentally(?) just as 1P v8 was announced. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin and completely quitting and ...

The same combination of versions of 1P, plugin and browser is still working on another computer, so it seems to be something localized rather than general (good bye conspiracy theories).
