Complex search logic

I don't think this is possible, as I'm seeing a number of requests adjacent to this, so please consider this a feature request

I'd like to use more complex search logic than e.g., =tag:MyTag

For example I'd like to search for things that have MyTag and don't have MyNewTag

e.g., a search query like: =tag:MyTag, -tag:MyNewTag

My particular use case is I'm going through all my accounts that use a Yubikey, and logging into those to replace my yubikey with a new one.

Those accounts are all tagged 2fa-yubikey. Once I've updated them, I'm adding the additional tag: 2fa-yubikey-replaced, so I know which ones remain to be updated.

Thanks!
Zach

  • Hello zcutlip! 👋

Thank you for the feedback! I can certainly see how more advanced search filters, especially the ability to exclude a certain search filter from the search, would be useful and I've filed a feature request on your behalf.

Have you considered adding something like an 2FA-YubiKey-AUDIT tag to all items currently tagged 2fa-yubikey and then removing 2FA-YubiKey-AUDIT as you update your items so that you can keep track of what items still need to be updated? This might be an easier workflow with today's current search filters.

    That's a great idea. Thanks!

  • I'm glad that my suggestion could help. Thanks again for the feedback. 🙂
