Connection problem with browser extension (Chrome and Brave) on Arch Linux

I installed the app via https://aur.archlinux.org/1password.git , the browser extension in both Brave and Chrome from the Chrome web store, followed the steps at https://support.1password.com/connect...

For posterity: the problem here was that Brave was installed via Flatpak (KDE Plasma Discover).  Re-installing it via Yay (https://brave.com/linux/#arch) was the solution.
