1password pop-up bug on android googlechrome app
I'm using an up to date android "moto g75 5g" with up to date google chrome browser app. I have not tried other phones or other browsers.
Some days the 1password pop up works fine and then others it doesn't work at all. Sometimes it appears and then disappears. Sometimes it doesn't appear at all. Right now it appears and then disappears when the keyboard loads.
I'll click the text field, the 1password popup will appear, the keyboard will load immediately afterwards causing the 1password popup box to close.
I'm using the 1password setting "Display Autofill Prompts > Below the fields they relate to". I've had problems with " ... > Above supported keyboards" not showing anything above the default OS keyboard which is Gboard.
I've tried:
- Open device settings.
- Select "Password, passkeys & accounts".
- Confirm 1Password is listed under Preferred services.
- Under "Additional services", turn Google on.
- Open Chrome, then open the ⋮ menu and select Settings.
- Open "Autofill services", then select "Autofill with Google".
- Return to the website login page, refresh the page, then tap the username field.
I've also tried this:
- Open device settings.
- Select "Password, passkeys & accounts".
- Confirm 1Password is listed under Preferred services.
- Under "Additional services", turn Google OFF.
- Click 'Change' on preferred service.
- Choose Google and confirm the change.
- Choose 1Password and confirm the change again.
- Open Chrome, then open the ⋮ menu and select Settings.
- Open "Autofill services", then select "Autofill with another service". (if another service is already chosen then choose Google, restart chrome, then repeat steps 8 and 9 again.)
- Return to the website login page, refresh the page, then tap the username field.

Now "Above supported keyboards" doesn't work either. I've tried everything.

Hi atezian! Thanks for writing in. I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing filling issue.
It sounds like you've checked all these settings at various points, but just to ensure they've been covered in order, could you try the following:
- Open Chrome.
- Click the three dots ( ⋮ ) on the top right, then tap Settings > Autofill Services.
- Tap Autofill with Google, then tap Restart Chrome in the popup that appears.
If you are still experiencing issues, could you try this as well:
- Open and unlock the 1Password app.
- Tap the account/collection icon on the top right.
- Tap Settings > Autofill.
- Tap Display autofill prompts then tap Below the fields they relate to.
- Open your device settings, then tap Apps > 1Password > Force Stop.
- Reopen the 1Password for Android app, then try filling.
If you're still seeing issues I'd like to ask the following:- Have you previously used Chrome's built-in password manager to save credentials?
- If you have other supported browsers installed, such as Edge or Firefox, have you noticed the same issue? If you don't, do you notice the same sort of issue when filling in non-browser apps?
- When you tap a text or login field does a suggestion strip appear above the keyboard with any setting or feature icons?
- Is there anything unique about the setup on your device such as being in developer mode, using a non-standard OS, using a physical keyboard, or anything else that may be notable?
Let us know how that goes, and thanks again!

1) Chrome has no credentials saved on my google account or on this device.
2) I don't use any other browser apps. Non-browsers apps behave unpredictably.
3) above keyboard strip sometimes appears, sometimes not. This device is using Gboard.
4) nothing unique about this device as far as I am aware. Stock motorola with latest android OS versioning.
Via your first suggestion changing chrome to autofill with google has caused (on google chrome browser app) both above keyboard and below related fields to appear although above keyboard doesn't work for password fields it only works for email fields.
Can I ask why autofill with google is the correct option? That doesn't seem correct to me because as far as I am aware 1password is not a google product.
after your 2nd suggestion still both "above keyboard" and "below related fields" are appearing. If I redo your 2nd suggestion steps but for "above keyboard" instead of "below related fields" the same thing happens and both pop ups are appearing regardless of which setting is chosen. But still the above keyboard doesn't appear for password fields, only email fields. Is that intended?
I've just repeated your 2nd suggestion a 3rd and 4th time. Seems that "below related fields" is showing both that and "above keyboard". If I do those steps and choose "above keyboard" it is working correctly and only showing "above keyboard" but not for password fields, only email fields.
Sorry if this is a bit confusing. I am doing my best to communicate it
