Collection management is still a pseudo-modal, which means that it’s not useful for me—and makes this "flagship" feature something that I hate using.
I appreciate very much that preferences is its own window now. Thank you.
The appearance options are nice, but I still wish I could disable the ⌘-, ⌘+, and ⌘0 misfeatures. Especially ⌘0. I don’t ever want to change these settings outside of Preferences.

Hey folks, we have an update to share on one of the points of discussion here. As of our latest
Betarelease (8.7.0-41), you can now use the Appearance options in the Settings menu to change the spacing of items in your list, as well as the contents of the sidebar. You can choose between Comfortable and Compact options, as @octothorpe88 suggested above. 👆This option comes in addition to the ability to use the interface zoom option to make things larger or smaller, as well as the recently-added options to determine whether Categories and Tags are part of your sidebar experience.
(Oh, almost forgot: the team has also added new screens for empty states - like when you don't yet have any items in a vault - as well as added animations throughout the app).
We hope these changes are to your liking, and will look forward to having your impressions of them. Feedback from the community continues to drive our improvements going forward, and we hope this will allow you to customize the visuals of your 1Password 8 app in a way that feels right for you.
Cheers from the 1Password team!

1P_Ben 1Password 8 for iOS will be a separate download and install so that users that are not ready or not willing to migrate or subscribe won't lose access to their iCloud/Dropbox/WLAN Server standalone synced vaults, correct?

As it stands 1Password 8 for iOS is being built with Swift and SwiftUI.

Please when 1P8 is released, release the iOS version of 1P8 as a new software rather than an upgrade so that users can choose which version they want to use.
Have they said that 1PW 8 on iOS won't be native?

I really agree with most of the comments here, especially regarding Electron. I have already tested the “native” app from Secrets and Dashlane, just to keep up going forward, but my stomach hurts every time I try to use another app. I hope everything will look and feel amazing in the end :|

From @blankspace: "For me, no task bar icon with access to 1p mini is heart breaking". Absolutely. Whole app is mayor of Clunk City but this is the straw on the camel's back for me. Bottom line is 1P8 sinks to the lowest common denominator feature set and it shows. Big regression and it definitely pushed me to other solutions.

1P_Ben & roustem : Please, please do following: write a statement for your users! Why you will not stopp with v8. And why the important, the constructive and VERY DETAILED feedback and critics from your customer does not reach you anymore resp. you do not react and act to this feedback/critics! How can you still believe that v8 is still the good, better, best solution?!

skippingrock nails it. I don't care 1p8 is faster. Don't care if it's prettier, don't care if quick access is 'better' than 1p mini, really don't care the windows list sorts slightly different than the mac one.
The fact is all of these new 'features' are something I don't think any of us care about. The death by paper cuts of the features we DID use is long and impossible to do in an electron app.
I won't list anything skippingrock listed even though I agree with most. For me, no task bar icon with access to 1p mini is heart breaking. Add in no alfred integration, poor sidebar actions, lack of feature parity (I get it's a beta), no local vaults even for paying customers ...
Whatever, we will keep complaining even though we all know you're excited about the unified app. However we all strongly disagree with this update and I think you're destroying a massive reason for your success.
1P8 has literally zero advantages to lastpass, I just don't understand how you can possibly compete with someone who has more features, same price (at least to Canadians), and significantly bigger/more popular than you, when you remove the defining feature that sets you apart.
It blows my mind!
