Destroy doesn't seem to work

I had 174 items in Recently Deleted, selected all of them, and choose to Destroy permanently...

The first time, 1P8 told me it destroyed 3 items, leaving me with 171.

Subsequent attempts, nothing gets destroyed. No warning, no positive action.
