On iOS/Safari how do I stop 1Password suggesting to save passwords filled out by 1Password
This is starting to drive me nuts.
In the last couple days or so, whenever I use the login autofill function in Safari, the one above the keyboard, I get a popup asking to save the password in 1Password. That is, the login I have just filled out using 1Password, I am being asked to save in 1Password. This dialog:
No setting I can find gets rid of the popup. I have tried disabling the 1Password Safari extension but this doesn't seem to be involved at all. I have looked through the 1Password app but can't find any option that gets rid of it. I have also tried disabling the "suggest strong passwords" features in iOS settings, but it doesn't get rid of it either.
Only times I don't get the popup is when the 1Password Safari extension decides to work, which is perhaps about half the time, and actually shows the little 1Password icon in the login fields, allowing me to select the login.
If I manually open the 1Password Safari extension and select autofill, I get another dialog asking to update the password instead, despite the fact the password and login URL are already present and recognized by 1Password, at least so far as the autofill is concerned.
This is on iOS 26.4 using Safari. 1Password app version is 8.12.10.

This issue, as well as others, is reported in this thread
https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/me-271-feedback-inline-menu-hidden-in-safari/168853
May I suggest that any queries here are pointed to this thread instead of making suggestions that are irrelevant in view of the contents of this thread.

Did as suggested. Still have the same issue. Happens on all sites

I'm sorry that the steps didn't work. Are you filling your login credentials from the AutoFill prompt above your keyboard:
Or are you filling your credentials using the Safari browser extension? And, even if you see the issue on all websites, can you share just one website where you can currently reproduce the issue on so that I can take a look?

Hello wildball4683, theengine, jackboxnapkin, and CrazyToro! 👋
I'm sorry that you're seeing an unexpected prompt when filling your login credentials using 1Password in Safari on iOS. So that I can look into this further can you please try the following:
- Open Safari and navigate to any webpage.
- Tap on the page setting icon in the address bar and then tap 1Password.
- The 1Password popover will open.
- Tap on the more option button next to the key icon (it looks like three horizontal lines), then tap Lock.
- Tap on the page setting icon in the address bar and then tap 1Password. Unlock 1Password.
Then try to fill your login credentials again using AutoFill: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPadDo you see the same issue? If you do then can you please provide the address of the website where you're seeing the issue so that I can test on my end?

Thank you for the screen recording! It looks like you're filling using the Safari web extension's popup and running into a similar conflict with native iOS AutoFill that we resolved with the removal of the inline menu. In short, you're filling using the browser extension and iOS is detecting the fill and offering to save the filled credentials because the extension can't communicate with iOS AutoFill. This is an issue that we've filed feedback for with our friends at Apple.
Can you try to fill your login credentials from 1Password using native AutoFill instead of using the Safari extension: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad

I am not seeing the page setting icon in my address bar after visiting Facebook.com. I have tried other sites as well with no luck. Is there an option I need to enable to see the icon?

The page settings button appears in Safari's address bar after you open a website (not on the new tab page) and looks like this:

That is so annoying. 1Password is literally asking you to save the password you just "auto filled" for the website.
While I have your attention; contemplating using the built-in MacOS password manager now that you can share among devices and users. Any reason why that would be a bad idea?

In my opinion, there are two serious considerations that recommend against using the Apple password manager. First, an Apple legacy contact cannot access saved passwords, complicating end-of-life planning; and second, all passwords become inaccessible in the event that the user's Apple Account becomes locked.

I have this issue as well. Why is it offering to save passwords in one password when I just used 1Password to log in.

Nope, thought I had it fixed but not anyway.
