Disable autocomplete on an input, when 1password chrome extension shows suggestions
Using Chrome and the 1Password extension, I'm increasingly seeing situations where both Chrome's form autocomplete and 1Password login items are shown in competing popups
They both overlap each other, making it very annoying to use....
The chrome popup is not necessarily showing saved Chrome passwords (although can be).
Sometimes Chrome is just showing a popup for form autocompletions, so even if you delete the first batch of them, it just keeps suggesting more and more, which overlaps 1Password suggestions.
I feel the 1Password extension is capable of setting the input to autocomplete="off" when its invoked, which would avoid the two popups overlapping (leaving only 1Password login items shown).
This would be such a great improvement

Appreciate the clarification, carpii !
I've shared this internally for further consideration. If you haven't already, I also recommend giving 1Password Identity items a try for filling non-login fields.
If there are particular websites or circumstances where this isn't working as expected for you, let me know and we'll be happy to troubleshoot!

Hi andrew_l_1P
I understand, but the issue is, its not Chromes password manager showing these suggestions (I already have saved passwords disabled)
Its pulling it from Chromes form autocomplete history (in this case, for the username input).
This is a useful feature which Id prefer not to disable if possibleI was hoping 1Password extension could dynamically set autocomplete="off" when it focuses a text entry, which would prevent the competing popups

Hi there carpii 👋
Apologies for the delay getting back to you! We typically recommend disabling the built-in autofill from browsers to avoid these conflicts: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser
Let me know if you give that a try or have any questions. 🙂
