Extension in iOS and iPadOS both require entering password instead of Touch ID

Every time I try to use the extension, it asks for password and I can’t find a setting to change. When I upgraded to v8, I was annoyed with the entering password every two week till that was fixed to allow me to set it to never since I use Touch ID and Face ID on my different devices. How can I get the extension to use Touch ID or Face ID? Or to allow me to unlock 1Password app and have the extension see that.
