Extension in Safari 15

I’m using Safari 15.6.1, and am upgrading to 1P 8. When I download and open the 1Password for Safari app, the “Open Safari Preferences” and “Finish Setup in Safari” buttons do nothing. In addition, no 1Password extension shows up in Safari Preferences.

Is 1P 8 not compatible with Catalina Safari?

    Hi Calion - Thanks for reaching out to us here. 🙂

    I'm sorry for the trouble you've bumped into with 1Password for Safari. 1Password 8 and 1Password for Safari are compatible with Catalina version 10.15 or later. In your case, could you try the following steps to see if we can get 1Password for Safari to show in Safari Preferences > Extensions as we'd hope?

    1. Open 1Password 8 for Mac (desktop app).
    2. Click the Help menu at the top of your screen and choose Troubleshooting, followed by Fix Missing Safari Extension.
    3. This will rebuild the launch services database and (hopefully) allow you to enable 1Password under Safari > Preferences > Extensions.
