Feature request: Name for entities linked to your account
Here is one little idea for improvement that just came up to my mind, a feature that let me give devices and browsers linked to my account, where I have installed the 1Password manager, a name or alias. I use the password manager on three computers, two mobiles and two or three browsers on each of them. With a name would it be easier to identify entities that should be unlinked. There is a potential security issue if I forget to unlink devices that are not in use any longer.
One thing is that it would be good if I could add a name to the entities in the Manage Account dialogue box. Even better would it be if I were prompt to optionally give the new entity (device or browser) a name every time I install 1Password on a new device or browser.
I have more ideas for new features that I can share here later :)
Kindly,
Jonny
Hello jonand and questbahlin! 👋
Thank you for the feedback! I personally like how Signal Messanger does this: when linking a new device a prompt appears with your default device's name filled in but you can edit it to something more meaningful or descriptive.
While I can't make any promises, I've filed a feature request with our Product team on your behalf. They'll consider adding this sort of feature to 1Password in the future. 🙂

+1 for me.
You soon get a long list, especially with browsers & Safari extensions. Would be handy if the list said when last used and ideally when first as well. One question...
1P_Dave do you know is the list in date order with the oldest at the bottom? So I can Unlink those and just leave my latest browsers.- 1P_Timothy

In your profile on the 1Password website, linked devices and browsers are displayed in order from most recently used to least recently used. If you click the menu button (â‹®) next to each device/browser you can also see when the first sign in occurred.
You can find devices/browsers linked to your account with these steps:
- Sign into your account on 1Password.com .
- Click your name in the top right corner.
- Select Manage account.
- Scroll down to Linked to Your Account.
Devices and browsers linked to your account are displayed in the same order in the 1Password apps, but the last and first accessed information is not available there. Thanks again!

+1 for me, I LOVE this idea! And just because most other services don't allow for this (I can't say I've ever seen one that did IIRC) doesn't mean 1Password shouldn't take the lead and start the trend.
Being able to see what devices are attached/logged in to your account is great. But being able to write a quick descriptor to each entry is even better - and would make much better use for what you already have in place there.

There are currently three entities in my list that are named exactly the same, "Chrome Lund, Sweden", which is the browser name and where I live. I am aware which these three instances are, but can't say which of them that belongs to which device. With one old instance also would I not be able to say which one to unlink. That is potentially unsafe.
