Feature request: Warn before archiving an item
A moment ago, doing some housekeeping work in 1P, I moved to delete a document I had saved to my entry for my Apple Account. I forgot to hit [Edit] before doing so and almost had a heart attack when my 1P Apple Account entry and the Recovery codes, and other notes I had made pertaining to my Apple Account went poof!
I found it in the Archive in Recently Deleted, thank heavens.
The Feature I am suggesting is for tapping my Delete key to bring up an [Are you sure you want to delete this entry?] dialogue.
Many thanks from a happy 1P user of many, many years.
Hello BikerBob38! 👋
Thanks for reaching out! By default, 1Password will ask if you're sure that you want to archive an item when you press the delete key on your keyboard:
If you don't see this confirmation message then it means that you clicked "Archive and Don't Ask Again" at some point in the past so that 1Password wouldn't ask you to confirm each time that you archived an item. You can bring the prompt back by resetting 1Password on your device:
🚨 Before proceeding, make sure that you have a copy of your Emergency Kit, that you know your account password, and that you're signed into 1Password on another device.
- Reset the 1Password app: How to reset the 1Password app on a specific device
- Add your 1Password account back to the 1Password app: How to add your 1Password account to the apps
- Follow the prompts to setup 1Password and configure any settings that you had configured before.
I hope that helps!
