Fill SMS security/verification code in Firefox, not just Safari

When using Safari, 1Password inserts the verification code, when received in a text message, automatically to the required field with one click. When using Firefox the verification code has to be entered manually. Is there a way to get the extension to do it automatically?

    Thank you for the question! When using Safari, the SMS verification code is actually being filled by macOS itself and 1Password isn't involved: Autofill security codes from your iPhone in Safari on Mac - Apple Support (CA)

    MacOS only does this in Safari and the feature isn't available for other browsers like Firefox. I would recommend submitting a feature request to Apple if you'd like to see them bring this to Firefox as well: Official Apple Support

    As of macOS Big Sur, Security Code AutoFill (the SMS [2FA] code AutoFill feature) is available for Mac apps!

    Developers! Tag your native text fields with {NS,UI}TextContentTypeOneTimeCode! That’s all it takes.

    Thanks for posting the link, that is something that developers of third-party Mac apps can implement to have macOS fill verification codes from SMS texts in their app. I'm not sure if that would apply to Firefox.

    Since the SMS text filling feature is provided by macOS, not 1Password, I would reach out to Apple for more clarification on that. 🙂
