How can I figure out what's activating 1password app on macOS?
I'm using 1password 8.10.68 on macos 15.3.1 Every two hours or so 1password asks to be unlocked via touch id and I have no idea why, what's exactly triggering this action. I'm using 1password's ssh...

I was able to find what's causing this, it's not a problem of the 1password browser extension. In my case it was Jetbrains IDE default git setting to fetch changes from remote, this is because I use 1password SSH agent, I was able to disable it from "Settings > Version Control > Git > Explicitly check for incoming commits on remote", setting to Never.

Updating and restarting doesn't help, I have had this issue for a few months now.
This is the screenshot of the pop up. When I approve or dismiss nothing happens.

6 months agoThank you for the screenshot and for confirming that updating macOS didn't resolve the issue. The prompt doesn't look like it's coming from the SSH agent. I would suggest checking the following:
- If you're using 1Password in multiple browsers, try using just one browser at a time to see if you can narrow the issue down to a specific browser launching 1Password.
- Are you using a 1Password integration through a third-party service like Alfred or Raycast? Try turning off that integration to see if the issue still occurs.
- Are you running any scripts that make calls to 1Password using the CLI?
If none of these options apply then, to investigate this further, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:
Send a diagnostics report (Mac)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
