How do I turn off Auto-Login?

I'm sorry for misunderstanding. Another option is to turn off autosubmit for particular websites that you're having issues with:

This per-item setting will sync to all of your browsers and devices.

Hence the request to make functionality like this account-wide.

Thank you for the feedback! I can definitely see how syncing browser settings would be useful for those who use many different devices and browsers and I've filed a feature request on your behalf. 🙂

Right. I've done that about 40 times now, and will continue to do so, because it needs to be done for every single browser, every single profile, separately on every single device. Hence the request to make functionality like this account-wide.

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with the autosubmit feature. If you'd like to turn off the autosubmit feature entirely, rather than per-item, then you can do so by following these steps:

1. Open your browser.
2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
3. Click Autofill & save.
4. Turn off "Sign in automatically after autofill".

Let me know if that would provide you with a workaround for now.

This whole mess is one more reasons why 1Password really needs to move settings up to the account level rather than per-thing. I've turned this thing off about 40 times now, and will continue to keep having broken logins going forward since I'm going to keep needing to flip this off.

Sure.

Every single site that has anything else on the log in page. Any checkbox, any dropdown, multiple buttons, a radio button. Pretty much anything more than username+password+submit button is going to be intermittently or completely broken by this feature.

Why not set those first? Well for one, it's not intuitive. If there's any sort of browser verification it may expire (or be reset) when the password form is modified. And also, 1Password itself often blocks access to those controls until I pick which account to use so that the 1Password selector gets out of the way.

I get the idea behind this feature conceptually it's nice, but on the internet as-is, it just isn't usable.

The feature is causing a trove of issues for our company as well - platform logins not working with errors and even our in-house applications are having erratic behaviours like popping up their T&Cs when auto-fill tries to automatically login.
This feature would be safer to be opt-in, as the compatibility just isn't seamless. It's just a menace to the unbeknown people using the app.

I don't remember ever seeing the popup you are showing, but I will admit that I move quickly with the mouse and keyboard and often have numerous browser windows open for my work.

The auto-login idea is not a bad one if it can cover all possibilities. It seems like it might be triggering too quick. When I watch mine it has barely put data into the password entry and I see an hourglass and failure for the ones that don't work (needs time delay after data entry?). Only part of them fail. It needs to cover for multiple logins on the same website as well, but I think it lets me choose okay.

Hi jeffer23, thanks for reaching out about this! I'm glad to hear that you were able to locate the option to disable signing in automatically when autofilling.

I understand that it caused you to be locked out of some accounts, and the setting was hard to find. Since autofill is extension-related (even after using Open & Fill in the Windows app, as this opens the website and tells the extension which credentials to fill there) the setting related to this feature is located in the extension settings.

At the moment it's enabled by default, and the first time it signs you in automatically, the extension displays the below popup with a button that takes you directly to the setting. However if this popup was dismissed or missed, I can definitely understand how working this out after the fact can be frustrating and unintuitive.

I would be happy to file your feedback with our Product team - could you tell me a little more about any particular changes you'd like to see that would improve the experience for you?

I don't want to just complain without providing at least something to help you out. I have mine disabled right now.

It seems like the login was triggering the log-in button before form data was settled in my opinion.

Most of mine just say the generic statement password/username is incorrect. On my Ring login it just sits there (grayed out) in limbo and never switches to the dashboard like this (my email address is displayed instead of what I am showing).
