Thanks for the update and sorry for the delayed response here. I'm so happy to hear that Ekalb was able to assist with that article (thanks) and that your troubles are fixed.
Upgrading 1Password isn't an option from within the app (claims to be up-to-date as of this morning)
This is expected behaviour. 1Password version 7 and 8 are different products and version 7 will only update to the latest version (7.9.832 as of this reply). When installing 1Password 8 for Windows, it will first automatically uninstall version 7 if you hadn't uninstalled it manually.
