Item history is completely missing in the newest interface and I almost lost access to an important account because of this. Now I was lucky that I could still access this and get my old password fro...

Thank you for reaching out. You should see item history on 1Password.com: View and restore previous versions of items

When you log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app) you can click on the date at the bottom of an item to expand it and see an option to View previous versions:
