Just Updated to 1P for Mac 8.10.7 - Locking Problem

The previous behaviour was technically a bug that was fixed in version 8.10.7. 1Password's locking behaviour is more consistent across the board now and more closely resembles what folks were already used to from previous versions of 1Password.

That being said, our developers are looking into further refining how 1Password locks and stays open in the background in the future. 🙂

@andreww_j got here first and their answer is correct: 'Keep 1Password in the menu bar' needs to be enabled for 1Password to remain unlocked. With this de-selected, 1Password will fully quit when all 1Password windows are closed.

Can you check to see if that option is turned on:

1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
2. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
3. Click on Settings.
4. Click on General.
5. Turn "Keep 1Password in the menu bar" on.

If you still see the issue after turning this option on then let me know.

We have an internal work item open to have 1Password continue to run even if the menu bar icon is turned off and I've added your request there so that our developers are aware that this is something that you'd like to see in the future.

I have the same issue here. The only fix I have found is to set "Keep in Menu Bar" turned on, then you can use the red "X" but would be great to not have to keep it in the menu bar
