MacOS clamshell regression
1Password version: 1Password for Mac 8.12.12 (81212044)
MacOS version: 26.3.1 (a)
Since a few versions ago (I think release in february/march), my 1Password workflow has been messed up.
Most of the time, I have my MacBook in clamshell mode, connected to a docking station. I have Touch ID / biometric unlock enabled. With this biometric unlock enabled, I could always unlock my vaults by getting the MacOS system password prompt. This has stopped working, now when I fill in the system password prompt, nothing unlocks and I have to unlock each vault manually again.
It's really frustrating, because this has worked for a long time (even on Linux desktop, but not sure if it regressed there as well).

Hi tdgroot, thanks for reaching out to report this!
I've done some testing on my end, however so far I've not been able to reproduce the behaviour you're seeing - I'm able to unlock with my Mac password as normal.
So that our support team can look into this further, I'd like to ask you to reproduce this issue, then send in a 1Password diagnostics report from your Mac:
Send a diagnostics report (Mac)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to: support@1password.com
With your email please include:
- A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/macos-clamshell-regression/170040
- Your forum username: tdgroot
You'll receive a reply with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks!
