2 years agoIt sounds like 1Password is behaving as designed inside of Safari on your Mac. Once you've already unlocked 1Password, using your passkey only requires that you clicking Sign In in the passkey prompt. You don't need to authenticate using Touch ID again.
In other browsers on the Mac, like Chrome, you can press enter on your keyboard when you see the sign in prompt but a bug in 1Password for Safari doesn't automatically focus the passkey prompt. For the time being, you should be able to press the tab key once after the prompt appears to focus the prompt and then press enter to complete sign in.
Why is this 1Password functionality different on my iPad with Touch ID (and my iPad/iPhone with Face ID)? When I access the Best Buy website (not the app) using passkey through my iPads/iPhone, I can activate the passkey access with the applicable Touch ID or Face ID.
On the iPhone and iPad, passkey saving and sign in is handled using iOS AutoFill (a built in technology/API created by Apple) and 1Password only provides the data for the experience. That's why you'll see a slightly different experience on each platform.
Let me know if you have any questions.
