Is there a way to merge duplicate entries in 1Password?

Hello robertoborges! 👋
Thank you for the question! 1Password 8 includes a duplicate finder through Watchtower, try these steps:
- Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
- Click on Watchtower in the sidebar.
- Click on Show Items under Items with duplicates.
The duplicates remover tool will only look for items that are exactly the same and that are located in the same vault. You can read more here: Use Watchtower to find account details you need to changeI hope that helps.

I have just come here as my husband and I have set up our account today, importing all passwords from Google and there are SO MANY duplicates. As others have mentioned, duplicates for minor URL differences, also duplicates for online vs. mobile applications. Some have official names, many others are just web addresses as the name of the account - it's an absolute mess. I really think you should look to add a 'Merge' option. It may only be used by people starting up initially, but would hugely improve your UX.
I have spent hours this evening trying to tidy it up and haven't even made a dent. Not to mention didn't realise the duplications across mobile and web so have already deleted one or the other in many cases. And I can confirm that if you delete one but leave the other, it does not work. You need to keep both the mobile and web browser as separate passwords, even though it is for the same account!
I'd really appreciate it if you could sort this out please to make our life easier.

Welcome to the community! It sounds like you had a lot of similar items for the same accounts stored in Google's password manager over the years and all of those were then imported into 1Password. I can see how a merge tool would help and I've passed your feedback along to the team internally.
For the time being, one thing that can help is the Imported tag that is added to imported items, it looks like this:
You can go through your imported items one by one, using the desktop app's search tool to find related items. If you do find related items then you can choose to keep one and then edit it to make sure that it has all of the information needed before deleting the other item. Then you can remove the Imported tag from the item to mark that you've already checked that one. Once you no longer see any more items with the Imported tag then you're done!
You need to keep both the mobile and web browser as separate passwords, even though it is for the same account!
That doesn't sound right, the same Login item should work in both a mobile app and a website in your browser. Can you tell me a little more about the issue? Does the item have a website address added to the item that you kept? What happens when you try to fill it, do you see an error message?
