Thanks for the new password. Unfortunately I clicked Save and lost the password so now I don't know the password for this service.
User error, sure. But could you make that box more modal so I have to click Use or Cancel and won't just loose the password by clicking out of the password generation box?
I had the exact same issue happen to me. If you don’t hit “Use”, the password currently shown in the generator is seemingly lost forever. Clicking anywhere outside the modal makes it disappear without any safeguards. And the fact that there’s a visible “Save” button behind the modal doesn’t help either.
AMonitorDarkly: In this case we’re not talking about overwriting previously saved passwords, which would be accessible via the means you describe. Rather the issue is that it’s too easy to lose the password just generated such that it is never saved in the first place.
If you long press on the password field it will give you the option to view previously saved passwords.
