New sign-in alerts and welcome page appearing with 1Password for Safari (Safari version 18.3 beta)

Apocalypse In defense of 1Password, this only happens when users are running the iOS 18.3 beta, so I can understand that this is not as high priority as some of their other work might be.
On the other hand, I have turned off the extension on my iPhone and iPad and still get some of those emails but not as many. I'm not sure how that can be. Maybe because I am running macOS 15.3 beta with the 1Password for Safari extension?

A quick patch to block those auto signs request or the new tab requesting extension configurations/tutorial would be enough to stop all those complains.
Instead of making it difficult to see how to stop the annoying bug, 1Password should have just release a patch until the issue is actually fixed and released āeliminatingā the patch.
You can do a better job with all the money we pay for this tool.

I'm getting the same thing. The IP address indicates my laptop rather than other devices. I am currently guessing that it's due to the fact that I'm running the macOS Sequoia beta.

Thank you Grey. I was puzzled by the page as the extension was on. I'll see what happens with it switched off.

Hey folks. This is something to do with iOS 18.3 beta, and you can read more about this here:

The tl;dr is that something about Safari changed in iOS 18.3 which destroys the 1Password extension's database, making it think you're signing in repeatedly, with no way to tell the difference.
Please thread any questions there if needed.

Hi TomWolsky
Most likely, it's because you're using a beta of iOS 18.3. We have heard reports of Safari in that version of iOS doing less-than-ideal things to the 1Password Safari extension's database, which makes it forget that you've used it before. We've raised it with Apple in case it's something they need to fix, and are working on a fix of our own to see if we can work around this change in Safari. All of that is in progress right now.
For now, you may want to turn off the 1Password Safari extension to stop this happening. You can do that in the Settings app > Apps > Safari > Extensions.
Please let me know if you have any questions, or would like any further help.

dbsawyer ā These are both symptoms of the same issue, realistically. Because Safari makes 1Password forget you've been signed in, it can't remember being signed in before, so when it reconnects, we have no way of telling that it isn't a new device. Each new email = one "new" device, because there isn't any way for 1Password to know any better when Safari destroys its database.

Hi everyone. Please see the comment I linked above ā https://1password.community/discussion/comment/722601/#Comment_722601 ā to learn more about how to stop these "new sign-in" emails by temporarily turning off 1Password for Safari on iOS.

Every time I open Safari in iOS I get the 1Password page asking me to load the browser extension. Why is this happening in iOS?
