Not working with android apps

Hi new here and to 1password. I've added a bunch of websites to 1pass on my Chromebook and auto fill works great. On my android pixel phone the autofill works fine with chrome browser but does not recognize the coinciding app. For example, I've added Wells Fargo to my logins and it is present on the 1 pass app but when I open the WF app 1pass says there are no suggestions matching wells Fargo and to create a new login. Do apps need separate logins than the websites?

On the old forums prior to this iteration of the 1PW Community, I had a thread open about an issue I continue to have to this day with some apps not giving me the "Always Allow" option in the Fill Anyway prompt.  The one I run into semi regularly is one of my banking apps - RBFCU.  When I go into 1PW via the autofill window (it presents with a different login suggestion), it says that it's giving "Suggestions for localhost".

I went through my less used apps and found a number of apps with varying autofill issues.  Would it be better to list them out here or open a formal ticket with Support?

Hi kuoirad! Thanks for writing in.

...an issue I continue to have to this day with some apps not giving me the "Always Allow" option in the Fill Anyway prompt.

This is likely related to an open issue we have where the "Always Allow" prompt doesn't appear in some specific apps. I can see that RBFCU is one of the apps noted in the issue, and I've updated it to include you as an impacted user. My apologies for the trouble here.

As a workaround, I found that adding "localhost" to a website field in the RBFCU login item resulted in it being suggested by 1Password when filling in the RBFCU app. The "Allow Once" prompt still appears when filling, but it at least saved me from having to search for the item in my testing.

While autofill issues can't always be addressed from our end, we're happy to receive reports of any issues and share them with our team. A support ticket would be best for this. You can get in touch by sending an email to support@1password.com along with any relevant details. Thanks again!

Hi danb! Welcome to the 1Password Community.

In short, app links on Android work a little differently than the URL or domain matching for websites. So, where you're using a website and a corresponding Android app, you'll have to link the app manually. Here's how:

    1. Open an app, then select a login field.
    2. Select the "Open 1Password" prompt that appears, and unlock 1Password if required.
    3. Search for and select the appropriate login item.
    4. In the "Fill Anyway?" prompt, select "Always Allow".

Your login will then be filled, and when you next return to the app 1Password will suggest this login item for filling.

Let us know if you have any questions!
