Open 1password extension in Chrome

I have 1Password Family and am in the process of setting up 1Password on my wife's MACBook Pro. Most aspects are functioning smoothly but I have one question. I have logged into the 1Password App...

Here is what I did. I closed Chrome. I signed out of the 1Password. app. I rebooted the computer MACBookPro. I signed back into the app using her password. I reopened Chrome and clicked on the 1Password extension in the address bar. I highlighted the 1Password icon in the window that popped up. It still had my email address (username). When I clicked on Sign In it did nothing. Essentially the original problem.
Next idea, please
