Passkey auto-login
Is anyone else annoyed by having to click on the 1password dialog in order to log in with a passkey? I would love the option to just have 1password automatically sign in with the passkey if there is...

5 months agoHi dgkimpton, thanks for sharing this feedback.
For my use of passkeys, I think I would enjoy the auto sign in behavior you described. I would be very curious to hear if others in the Community would prefer this as well, or if people here benefit from the current behavior.
While I can't say if this will be added to 1Password, I've gone ahead and shared your comments with the team.
It's not quite as seamless as the auto sign in you described, but I just wanted to mention that you can hit enter on your keyboard instead of clicking the passkey prompt.
Thanks again for your input!

I'd like the option, but not the default given that this could result in a login on page load, i.e. with no user interaction.
A checkbox option to log in automatically next time in the passkey modal would be ideal. There should of course be a way to disable this, with the current ⚙ Don't sign in automatically setting being the likely choice to cover all methods.

Thanks for weighing in on this AJCxZ0! I do recall conversations when we first introduced passkey support, that sign in could potentially feel too automatic. Certainly an important detail to keep in mind. I've added your comments.

Being able to disable this for some/all sites is probably a must have in order to let users feel in control. Although, personally, I'm struggling to imagine a single case where I wouldn't want to be logged in automatically despite my immediate gut reaction that optionality is critical.
