Passkey auto-login
Is anyone else annoyed by having to click on the 1password dialog in order to log in with a passkey? I would love the option to just have 1password automatically sign in with the passkey if there is...

5 months agoHi dgkimpton, thanks for sharing this feedback.
For my use of passkeys, I think I would enjoy the auto sign in behavior you described. I would be very curious to hear if others in the Community would prefer this as well, or if people here benefit from the current behavior.
While I can't say if this will be added to 1Password, I've gone ahead and shared your comments with the team.
It's not quite as seamless as the auto sign in you described, but I just wanted to mention that you can hit enter on your keyboard instead of clicking the passkey prompt.
Thanks again for your input!

Thanks. Also that's good to know about the shortcut.
Of course, my ideal solution would something with zero round-trips more like cookies where the auth request is part of the HTTP request so simply visiting the site is automatically logging in (when I'm signed in to the computer AND signed in to 1password). With passkeys being public-private key based this should be secure and transparent. However, since it would require all sites and browsers to agree I don't see it happening any time soon.

You're very welcome dgkimpton! There are definitely a lot of moving parts when it come to filling passkeys, and they don't always want to work together nicely. Regardless we appreciate your feedback as we continue to enhance the experience from our end. Thanks again!
