Passkey for Login.gov

I'm in a circular loop trying to check my social security statement. I'm told I should transition to a login.gov account, which then wants to create a passkey. Eventually I get a QR code on the screen, and I hold up my phone to scan the QR code on my iMac screen, and nothing happens. I found someplace in 1PW that asks if I want to scan a QR code, but again that does nothing except put blue corners around the QR code. What am I missing here?

    Hello, billdavies. Thank you for writing in.

    I've done some testing, and you could add a Security key as an authentication method to your Login.gov account and save it to your Login item as a passkey in 1Password. The steps to save a Security key for Login.gov are on their support page here: https://www.login.gov/help/get-started/authentication-methods/.
