Password generator in 1Password 8 Quick Access

The password generator was one of the most common features of 1Password that I would use and I can't believe this most basic functionality was removed with 1PW8. This is enough for me to seriously consider another password manager, virtually all of which offer this capability.
I do not always want to generate a password for a web site, so the new standalone browser extension is of no use to me.
I just want the ability to simply and quickly generate a password. I don't need to always create an actual new item.
I won't even comment on the so-called "smart password" feature. Please stop trying to force me to follow your pre-determined constraints and allow me to make my own decisions. 1PW8 is so much more difficult to use that I am moving back to 1PW7 while I consider my future with 1PW. I definitely do not like the direction 1PW is going.
