4 years agoPassword generator in 1Password 8 Quick Access
Hello!
I have just updated to 1Password 8 and I am very happy about it :)
One small annoyance I found is the missing password generator -- previously I could click on the menubar icon and there will be a big button to generate a new password, but now it's gone. Is there a plan to bring it back?
We have this button in the Chrome extension...
But where is it in the macOS app?

+1 my business is still using 1Password 7 because of the feature regressions in QuickAccess vs Mini.
Mini is fantastic and the best feature of 1Password 7 and a differentiator vs your competitors.
Immediately see all details of a login from anywhere, easily edit logins, and easily generate passwords!
QuickAccess is useless in comparison!

@dwighttttt
Thank you for the feedback, I've forwarded it to the team.
I'd also encourage you to reach out to your account manager or our business team at business@1password.com to discuss how this feature, and changes to Quick Access, would be helpful for your company.

+1 for me and +75 for my entire company that uses 1Pass. I've actually downgraded back to version 7 for this feature.
Agreed on Quick Access too. It's not very quick if you want to immediately see other information you've stored for that login. - 1P_Dave

+1. I'm missing this feature.

Just bring back the 1P mini interface. Quick Access is clunky with significantly diminished functionality.

Thanks for clarifying, TilRoquette. I can certainly understand the utility in having a password generator within Quick Access and will add your notes here to the feature request mentioned earlier in this thread. π

Hi andrew_l_1P This is true in Webseites - not in Apps

Hi TilRoquette,
To clarify, the option in that screenshot is within the browser itself. Clicking the suggested password will open a window in which you can edit the item before saving it:
None of this necessitates opening the 1Password 8 app. Let me know if this is what you're describing!

Hi andrew_l_1P thanks for your tipp. However, what we are looking for a feature present in former versions: Creating a new password **within **the web form for registering as a new user:
Type in the user name
Since there is no password to be found in 1password, one passwords suggests a new password right in the web form (no switch to the 1password app required).
