Thank you for the detailed feedback. The sidebar isn't persistent on the iPad when you hold it in portrait mode since there isn't a lot of horizontal space on the screen. If you hold your iPad in landscape mode then the sidebar will always be there.

That being said, I can definitely see how having a persistent search button (like there is in 1Password on the iPhone) would be useful and I've filed a feature request on your behalf with the team.

(Note - in Logins, the search field is hidden unless the user pulls down, but in Secure Notes or other sections, the search is always visible; is there a way to force it to remain visible on Logins too?)

Whether or not the search field is visible doesn't depend on the category of item but on the number of items in that category. If you have enough items in a category to fill the item list then the search field won't be visible by default in order to allow you to see more of your items. However you can always pull down on a list in order to search through that list.

Thanks; this may be at least partially user error.

On iPhone, I use the search in the tray to find the item I’m looking for.

When I restart the iPad, or enter after a while, it comes back to the home page, and there is no Search on the main page (though I realize there is in the sidebar; I don’t necessarily think to look for a button to open a search field; it’d be easier if the field was right there. If I don’t use that button, ultimately takes a few extra taps to select a vault or “Logins” to search, and then pull down on the list in Logins to have the Search bar appear.

Thanks you for the feedback! The search field is available from the top of any item list by pulling down on the list, you'll then be able to search from the top of your screen.

Can you tell me a little more about the views where you'd like to see the search field be at the top of your screen? You can always access search by tapping on the Search button at the bottom of your screen: Search in the 1Password app to find what you need
