Bringing the colorful icon back without the option to set the monochrome icon feels like a major regression. I use 1password across Windows/MacOS/Linux and now the system tray icon no longer looks native, except on MacOS where it remains monochrome. While I understand some people don't like the monochrome icon, it should at least be provided as an option.
It bothers me daily on Linux:
