Pre v8 search and filtering, can I get that behavior back?

I honestly really don't like the new search and filtering in the UI. Pre v8 I'm pretty sure a 'return'/'enter' after typing the search criteria did a 'show all matching items'. Now it's a cm...
You are not alone. This was reported early during beta testing (about ten months ago) and they are still considering changes🙄. You can get a 1PW7 like search by using CMD + OPT + F. This opens a search box next to the sort button above the item list. This works like the good old superior 1PW7 search. I‘ve already requested to make this the default and fully replacing the annoying new search.
